Letter from the President

I hope everyone enjoyed meeting the 2005-2006 Board. I know I got to learn a little bit more about Dawn, Kathy, Jessica and Sue. It seems like when I am at play dates, park days and parties, I never get to have a full length conversation. Usually there is an enterruption every 15 minutes or less. That is why I enjoy MOMS® Night Out so much. We MOMS can actually talk for extended periods of time with minimal interruptions. I have also benefited from learning more about the MOMS in our club by becoming more involved with the club, even if it was just in snippets. At first, I attended only business meeting and holiday parties. I then started attending more and more events and now, 3 years later, I am lucky to be the President of a great MOMS® Club.

Speaking of lucky, during the holiday season I count all of my blessing and I feel very fortunate for all that I have. So, I try extra hard to give a little more this time of year. I'm proud of all the work we do with MOMS® Club. Making Sunshine Meals for one of our members, going to Waltonwood and seeing the smiles on the senior's faces when our children enter the lounge. Having Family Night Out at Fuddruckers to raise money for a charitable cause while spending precious time with our friends and family. Donating our fundraising money to help a family have a happier holiday. Spending time with each other while sewing blankets for a sick child. The list goes on and on! Just think of how many people we gave a little joy to this year!

Have a safe and happy holiday season and enjoy every moment you have with your family!

Weekly Playgroups this Winter!

Wondering what you and your kids are going to do for another long, cold winter? Well our new weekly playgroups should help it go by quicker! Starting in January a playgroup will be hosted each week by one of our members. The only rule is that if you attend playgroups, you must host in return. Never hosted a playgroup? It's easy - just provide a little bit of space, a few toys and some snacks for the kids (and MOMS!). Each hostess picks the day, time and theme of the playgroup. It's fun for everyone and a great way to beat the winter blues! If you are interested in hosting, simply sign up for any of the dates still available in February and March. See you at a playgroup!!

ChairMOMS Needed!

The MOMS® Club is looking for a few good MOMS® to fill the Craft Chair and Party Chair positions. Both jobs are a fun way to use your creative side. It's always a great way to give back to the MOMS® Club and without a huge time commitment. The Craft ChairMOM is responsible for creating a craft for the kids after the business meetings and parties, as well as submitting a craft idea monthly for the newsletter. The Party ChairMOM organizes the pot-luck parties mainly around holidays and teh anual Open House. If you are interested, please contact any board member.

MOMS® Night Out Cookie Exchange

Join us for the MOMS® Night Out Cookie Exchange on Tuesday, December 13th.

Here is how it works:
1. Bake approximately 5 dozen cookies (quantity will vary based on the number of participants)
2. Seperate cookies into individual packages (paper plates, bags, Gladeware) so there is a total of 6 cookies per package.
3. Include a copy of the recipe with each package.
4. Either show up at the exchange or if you can't make it and want to participate, drop off your cookies during the day.
5. We will then exchange with everyone else, leaving a wonderful variety of cookies and recipes.

You don't want to miss out on this event! It is a great way to get into the holiday spirit! And, it is so nice to have such a variety of cookies to take to other events in December, without all the work!

December quotes

“December is all about gifts. Nothing but gifts ... gifts tied with heartstrings. Gifts that surprise and delight. Gifts that transform the mundane into the miraculous. Gifts that nurture the sould of both the giver and the given. Perfect gifts. Authentic gifts. The gifts of Spirit."

-Sarah Ban Breathnach

“Authentic success is being so grateful for the many blessing bestowed on you and yours that you can share your portion with others”
