Letter from the President

Happy New Year!  I know it seems a little late for a new year greeting, but we didn’t have  an “official” newsletter for January!  I hope you all enjoyed your holidays and have  started the year off on the right foot!  It is February and I am finally getting back into a  “normal” routine again.  February is the shortest month of the year, so it will be March  before we know it.  And, then Spring.  And, then Summer. Yes!  I know I am getting  ahead of myself here.

Thankfully the winter has been pretty bearable this year.  On those mild winter days we  get a little taste of the warmer months ahead and getting back to spending time outside.   We made it around the entire zoo on a mild January day.  How many times have you  done that during the middle of Winter?

As the season starts to change from cold to warm we have plenty to look forward to!   Here are a few things that are happening:
•  We have several moms that are expecting their second, third or fourth child.  See  page 3 for more details.  Congratulations and Best Wishes for a terrific  pregnancy, easy labor and delivery, and healthy happy babies!
•  We have the MOMS Club® Regional Luncheon in April where we will meet  several moms from the surrounding area and states.  This event will be a lot of  fun as well as very informative and inspiring.
•  We will soon start our election process for the new board.
•  And, we will be working on a few fundraisers and service projects.

There are only a few more months of cold left in Michigan and it will go by so fast for  most, if not all of us – except our children.  Let’s make the best out of all of our indoor  events like play dates, skating, parties and mall walking.  Again, Happy New Year to all  of you and here’s to a great 2006!

Kim
