Presidents Letter

I wanted to start out by saying thank you to all of you who've made my "job" as president a successful one. I'd also like to thank our board members, Jennifer, Sarah, Deirdre and Kim for all of your hard work and great ideas. This year has been challenging, rewarding, and I think really successful. We've raised over $1,000 for charity, participated in 4 community service projects and welcomed 7 new members. We successfully made the adjustment of sistering with Royal Oak last year, and our membership is stronger and more active than ever!

I truely do believe that you get out of MOMS Club® what you put into it, meaning, if you attend events and participate in profects and fundraiseres you not only get a sense of accomplishment, you'll also make lifelong friends along the way. I know next year will be just as successful, Kim is already in the planning stage of events and activities! As always, if you ever have an idea to share or you'd like to plan an activity, fundraiser or community service project, the board is here to make this your club!

Thanks again for a great year!
Heather

Garage Sale News

A big THANKS to everyone that donated items, baked goods, tables, hangers, came over on Thursday for the setup, and helped run the sale on Friday and Saturday. Without you, we wouldn't have had the success that we did!

MNO - Thursday was rainy, but we all worked really hard at organizing and getting items priced by 9 p.m. so we could watch the Apprentice finale.

Friday and Saturday were absolutely beautiful days for the garage sale. We couldn't have asked for better weather. It definitely played an important role in the success of our sale.

Speaking of success, we collected $726.23!!!! CD's and videos were our biggest sellers. I am guessing we sold about 150 of them. We also had a few big items sell that added to this awesome total - a computer for $60, amethyst jewelry for $20, a palm pilot for $20, a chest of drawers for $15 and a fish tank for $12. 50 - for a total of $127.50. The rest was clothes (surprisingly, a lot of adult clothes sold), kitchen items and baby items. Both exercise items sold too!

Below are a few awards I would like to "give out." Everyone played such an important role, but these people really stood out in my mind!

The biggest helper award goes to the Mohler's. Matt came over bright and early Friday morning and pulled out all the tables and big items with Amy. Without him I may have gone into pre-term labor:) The kids sat merrily in the car while their parents were breaking an early morning sweat! Amy worked an extra long shift, plus came back for a second one!

The award for lasting the longest at the sale goes to Jessica O'Connor. I think she spent about 6 hours at my house on Saturday! What a way to spend a Saturday.

The award for making the most visits goes to Heather Boddy. 4 times is the record to beat next year. This does not include the many phone calls that Heather made to make sure that everything was going well.

The award for bringing the most joy to the sale goes to Dawn Banks. She delivered 3 Hot-n-Ready pizzas and Crazy Bread/Sauce. They were delicious and greatly appreciated...both days! Dawn also just found out that Little Caesars has a drive thru:)

The award for helping all 3 days for the sale goes to Jennifer Merritt. She made MNO, Friday and Saturday. That's another record to be beat next year:)

The participation award goes to everyone that contributed to the sale!!! Nothing was too big or too small, because we needed the participation level that we had to make this garage sale a success. Again thank you to all of you! WE DID IT!!!!

Kim

Another Thank You

I need to extend a HUGE thank you to Kim for donating her house and working for 3+ days to make the garage sale such a success! I'd also like to thank all of the members who volunteered their time to work the sale and help set up, and those who baked and donated items. This was by far our most successful garage sale to date, raising $720. Thank you!!!!

-Heather
