What is it:  Northern Tier provides scouts the opportunity to enjoy a true wilderness high adventure experience.  Located in the Boundary Waters Canoe Wilderness Area (BWCWA) and Quetico Provincial Park; Northern Tier is in the heart of a vast area of lakes and rivers that served as waterways for early 18th century French explorers and fur traders, or Voyageurs.  Scout crews are provided food and cabin sleeping quarters prior to leaving for, and upon returning from their expedition.  Each crew is fully outfitted with canoes, life jackets, paddles, Duluth Packs, tents, food, cooking supplies and an experienced guide for a memorable 8-10 day trip into the northern wilderness.

What to expect:  Voyageurs on this expedition will canoe and portage through this endless interchange of lakes and rivers stopping to camp or relax on various islands or mainland locations.  This once in a lifetime adventure will provide scouts with the opportunity to work as a team, navigate or orienteer their way through the wilderness, camp, fish and of course swim in the clear cool water.  Scouts will also experience an abundance of beautiful scenery and wildlife, including:  waterfalls, native cryptographs, virgin forests, rocky shoals, star filled night skies, eagles, water foul, black bear, coyotes, moose, deer and maybe even a timber wolf!
