Where can I find stuff on the web site?

Click on the links to the things you are looking for.  Duh.

Why don't half the links work?

Apparently, the links that I put up to Encyclopedia.Com have been changed and now I need to go back and fix them all.

How much are your tests worth?

Tests are worth 100 points.  Twizzes (more than a quiz, not quite a test) are worth 50 points.  We have both, depending on the size of the unit we are studying.

Do you give a lot of homework and what is it worth?

I give homework 2-3 nights per week. Sometimes more, sometimes less, depending on what we are studying. Each homework assignment is worth 10 points and is due the following day.

What's up?

The sky. A few balloons. The humidity.  Certainly not the temperature in my classroom.

What is your favorite tv show?

The Simpsons. I believe that it is the most intelligently written show in tv history. There are many "inside" jokes and it aims at all age levels.

Do you have a lot of projects?

There are usually 3-4 major projects per year (one per card marking).  They range in value from 100 to 200 points and are done over a three to four week period.

What's with all the flags in your room?

The flags are historical representations from different periods of the country's history. They start with the American Revolution and
go through to the Civil War.

Why is your tv always on CNBC?

I like to watch the stocks to see how much money I lose in a given day.  Two years ago, I watched to see how much money I made, but we
won't go into that.

Are you a hard teacher?

I am a fair teacher.  You will be challenged in my class.  We cover a lot of material.  My tests are very difficult if you do not study.  I
have very high expectations for all of my students.

Do you always drink coffee?

Only when I'm awake.

Are we done with the notes yet?

No

Do we have homework?

Maybe. Check your planner or the homework section of the web site!

Do you have any kids?

NO!!!! Unless you count the 150 angels I see on a daily basis from August to June.

Why did you become a teacher?

Summers off. Just kidding. I had some really good teachers when I was in school. They made history (even the "boring" stuff) interesting. I try to do the same thing. I have always had an interest in history and working with eighth graders is, uh, interesting.

How did you do in school?

I did pretty well for the most part (A's and B's). Math was a tough subject for me and sometimes I didn't do so hot in there. I had to work hard at that. History came very easy for me (of course!).

What would you be doing if you weren't a teacher?

Sleeping at night! Just kidding. I actually was "THIS CLOSE" to accepting a job working for a wall street firm. I would have gone to NYC for about six months of training before being sent to a regional office in Detroit or Chicago. I got a phone call a couple of days before accepting the job from Mr. Streit for a job at Pierce. You can figure out the rest...

What is your screen name?

The screen name that I use for students is cabuehner.  I only have an AIM screen name (sorry Yahoo people).  I don't use it as much as I used to, but I will usually put an away message up on the night before tests and projects.
