Mission For The Class

By the end of May, students will develop an interest in history,
current events, and the importance of the past on our lives today.

They will understand the rights and freedoms they have in our
Constitutional republic and be able to explain why we have them, how
we got them, and why it is so important that we work to maintain them.

They will have a desire to take an active role in civic affairs
(voting, participation in public affairs debates).

They will be able to critically analyze a variety of issues, take a
stance on an issue, and be able to explain their position using fact
based evidence.

They will be able to explain the basic functions of our free-market,
capitalist economy and explain their role in that economy.

They will have a broad based understanding of US and world geography
and understand how regions relate with each other on an economic and
geo-political level.

They will learn something new every day.

They will expect my best effort every day and give their best effort
every day.
